Rooms 122 and 123 - Chattanooga - Escape Mission - The Awakening and The Hunted with Game Master Dennis - June 27, 2020 - Success on both
We decided to do a day trip to Chattanooga to do 2 escape rooms. Instead we did three rooms, two at this location.
We did the Awakening which was a really fun room because we got to build a man out of body parts! The tech needed a bit of persuasion though, but it was still fun. We barely got out in time. The back story is that there is a cemetery where folks keep disappearing and we have to find out why within the hour. Very entertaining.
We then did The Hunted because we had a bit more time before our next Escape Room. This was a bit of a confusing room though interesting. One thing I didn’t like was crawling through the wall without a standup door. Really kills my knees.
Escape Mission had a fence of keys outside of the building which I thought was so cool, though it does look tacky:
Room 124 – Chattanooga - It’s Time To Escape - Secret Agent with Game Master Christina on June 27th, 2020 - Success
Parking is a pain at this location in Chattanooga and the place is on the second floor with no elevator.
Those were the only things that were bad. First of all, the staff is exceedingly nice. They ALL went out of their way to greet us and to chat with us. Our Game Master, Christina, was incredibly helpful when we needed her most.
First of all, we were caged like the wild beasts we are. Each in a separate cell. I got out first and Rose was stuck in the other cage for quite a while until I figured out how to open her cage (not without a LOT of clues from the GM).
We made it to the second room and it was done up like groovy sexy London like in the Austin Powers movies. There were quite a few elaborate puzzles to solve and again we needed a lot of help. Lucky that It’s Time to Escape has 2 modes – competitive and casual and of course we selected casual. We probably got 10 to 15 clues – competitive only gives you 3.
This was a great 5 escape room weekend (2 in Lawrenceville and 3 in Chattanooga).
Room 125 – Florence KY – Sherlock’s Escape Rooms – The Attic – with Game Master Jovanni – failed – 7/21/2020
What can I say? July 21st was a terrible day since we failed an escape room. And it was all my fault.
There was a puzzle where you had to balance a ball on a little dimple in a horseshoe within a closed box and the person upstairs (Rose) had to pull and me as well then I had to push the ball through a hole at the top. It took me 20 minutes to get it finally balanced and figured out through a LOT of trial and error.
This was a great room with an UPSTAIRS which you don’t see often. I think this was one of the hardest rooms too because there were so many things to do.
Room 126 – Florence, KY – Sherlock’s Escape Rooms – Graveyard Escape – with Game Master Jovanni – success – 7/21/2020
This was not my favorite room but it wasn’t bad. The only thing I really recall was us spending a lot of time listening to a radio and figuring out whether we were counting mice or adding up mice. Finally figured it out. Provided flashlights were subpar.
Story line was kind of weird too – we were visiting the graveyard and it got dark. We had to get out before the Gravekeeper got back. Why were we there? It could have used a better story.
Room 127 – Florence, KY – Sherlock’s Escape Rooms – Cabin in the Woods – with Game Master Ace – success – 7/21/2020
So suddenly we get a new game master after the first 2. He says his name is Ace. I’m thinking it’s a stage name and it’s really Jovanni. I actually walked outside with Rose and asked her and she said their hair was different. And character wise they were completely different too! Ace really got into the character dressing up and though Jovanni was excellent, Ace was even better because he totally role-played (THIS DAY – on the next day, Jovanni showed his true colors – read the other posts).
This was the standard walk through the woods and get lost and find a cabin and OH NO it’s a serial killer with body parts stashed around. What I liked though is that the puzzles were actually part of the story.
Room 128 – Florence, KY – Sherlock’s Escape Rooms – The Wild West – with Game Master Ace – success – 7/21/2020
I dislike the concept of collecting money in a room. It’s easy to miss some. The story was you owed Jesse James some money and you had to collect it to pay him back and get out – if you did you got the money. If you had enough money, you would win as well.
I saw this concept at It’s Time to Escape in their High Noon room and didn’t like it and I didn’t like it here, but that’s just me.
Also, I personally don’t think we got enough money and our time ran out and in came Jesse James. Ace said we won by his calculations and we just silently accepted and stopped counting money. We suck.
But I did like the room otherwise including the safe with the high-tech (hidden) vault.
Below - Ace as Jesse James!
Room 129 – Florence, KY – Sherlock’s Escape Rooms – The Shipwreck – with Game Master Ace – success – 7/21/2020
This was personally my favorite room but oh my! We were so tired – this was the 5th room of the day after the 7 hour drive from GA.
The story is kind of janky – you’re on a cruise ship and have an hour to explore and come across a ship wreck. With ghosts that lock you in. To get a clue, you had to say Yo Ho Ho and I added And a Bottle of Rum!
I laughed a lot in this one. Maybe I was just punch-drunk, but I totally enjoyed Ace as our Game Master. He just got so into it by dressing up and it really looked like he was having fun too!
Room 130 – Cold Spring, KY – Sherlock’s Escape Rooms – The Shed – with Game Master Jovanni – success – 7/22/2020
Our Game Master Jovanni came into his own at Cold Spring. In Florence he seemed more distance, but for these rooms he got into character and played around.
We had to say funny phrases to get help for each room – I have no clue what this one was because we immediately forgot them. Perhaps it was The Doctor is Watching.
This room was about Dr Hand who started getting shaky hand so cut out his eye so he could perform surgery better? Well, there were a bunch of eyes all around the place and unusual for an escape room is that there were clues that were used multiple times.
We started in the doctor’s office and found an exit to an area with a shed (thus the name duh). We had a lot of silly fun here and enjoyed the room.
