Escape Rooms with Rose

Rooms 1 - 10

Escapes with Rose

My daughter, Rose, and I discovered Escape Rooms in December, 2018 at Netherworld.  We were there for a Christmas Haunt and during the event, it was announced there was a BOGO on Escape Rooms.  Neither of us knew what an Escape Room was, but as a dedicated and lifelong shopper, I absolutely knew what BOGO was.  We went over to the Escape Room area after the haunt and asked and were told that we would be locked in a room and would have to get out after an hour.  We immediately purchased a room the same night (Night of the Witch Hag) and scheduled the next one in January (Sasquatch).  Little did we know this would be the beginning of a beautiful Escape Room partnership together.  We sucked at our first room, but then did another one a few days later closer to home.  It was The Kidnapping at Breakout Games in Norcross.  They told us we would be handcuffed and blindfolded and we were both very eager to do it.  We failed that one as well.  It took us until room 3 before we had a success.   I won't put the exact count here, but it's over 140.

To navigate this section of the site, I will put 10 rooms on each page with navigation arrows going from page to page.  The bottom of each will have a table with links to each page.

Most rooms we did have pictures, but in general, not ones we didn't succeed at.  We have some pride.  We also don't count rooms that we had failed then repeated.  All rooms were done by Rose and me and additional team members are listed.

Tally

This Page - Success: 7   Fail 3

Cumulative - Success: 7 Fail: 3 Percent Success: 70%

Room 1 - December 2018/February 2019

Stone Mountain, GA: Escape the Netherworld The Haunted - or Night of the Witch Hag

First try - December 2018 - GM Mark - Fail

Additional Team member Brenden

On this first try, we walked into the room and just stood there  staring like we were redneck tourists in a big city. After about 5 minutes, the GM Mark told us that we had to search the room for clues.  We were so happy to get to the second room and in about 10 more minutes the game ended.  Mark was great and he showed us the rest of the room including the jump scare at the end.

Second try - February 2019 - GM Tripp - Success

Addl. Team - Brenden, Riley and 2 public folks

We hadn't realized that rooms were booked public until this moment.  2 others joined us, but they were great teammates and we succeeded.  We didn't get their names.

Room 2 - Norcross, GA: Breakout Games - The Kidnapping

First try - January 2019 - GM Steve? - Fail

Additional Team member Brenden

On our first try, we were only one number shy (Morse Code) from escaping the room and the GM did not help.

Second try - April 2, 2019 - GM Hagan - Success

Rose remembered one of the puzzle's solutions (DEATH) and we got out successfully.  We also played another game there that day.

Room 3 - January 13, 2019

Stone Mountain, GA: Escape the Netherworld

Sasquatch

January 13, 2019 - GM Gina - Success!

Additional Team member Brenden

We got this done with 4 seconds to spare.  I think the GM was kind and generous to us.  There was one point where we couldn't reach a key and she pushed it closer.  I also think she stopped the clock because we were really close.  We had loved Mark for our first room, and Gina was also super-fantastic!

Room 4 - February 23, 2019

Stone Mountain, GA:

Nosferatu - Van Helsing's Secret

GM Beth - Success

Additional Team member Riley

This was our top room until we went to Paris and it is still what we consider the best room in the Atlanta area.  Rose has been here 4 times - I think I've been to it twice.  Again, Netherworld provided an excellent game master, Beth.

Room 5 - Atlanta GA, Peachtree Center: It's Time to Escape - The Launch

First try - February 2019 - GM Emily - Fail

The first time, it was just Rose and me and we failed.

Second try - March 17, 2019 - GM a British Dude - Success

Additional Team member Riley

We really enjoyed this and did another room the same day.

Room 6 - March 17, 2019

Atlanta, GA: It's Time to Escape

Grand Zeppelin

GM a British Dude - Success

Additional Team member Riley

We got 50% off by booking another room the same day.  However, it was our second experience with publicly booked rooms, but unlike the first time, we had an unfortunate experience because there were 7 teenagers and one chaperone who joined us in the room.  There was pretty much chaos all the time and we were pretty upset because we didn't really get to experience the room.  It was an amazing room and also our first experience with an in-room actor who also was the GM.  This was the biggest room we had encountered so far and could hold the maximum of 15 people comfortably.  The storyline was quite good as well.

Room 7 - March 29, 2019

Norcross, GA: Breakout Games

Island Escape

GM Hagan - Success

We really enjoyed Breakout Games because all their games are private.  It's possible to get other games private, but only by paying an up charge.  That is until the pandemic hit, then everybody had private rooms.  This was a funny room and some stuff was broken, but it was still a lot of fun.  Hagan was a great Game Master.

Room 8 - March 30, 2019

Alpharetta, GA: Odyssey Escape Games Jack the Ripper - Solve the Mystery

GM Lane - Success

This was an unconventional Escape Game - it was to figure out who Jack the Ripper was, versus trying to escape.  Props were great.

Subsequent games were 50% off, so we stayed for 3 more.

Room 9 - March 30, 2019

Alpharetta, GA: Odyssey Escape Games

Titanic

GM Lane - Success

This was an excellent and large set of rooms, from the bridge, to the Marconi Room, to the boat deck.  It was extremely well done.

Room 10 March 30, 2019

Alpharetta, GA: Odyssey Escape Games

Towering Inferno

GM Lane - Success

This escape was based on the movie where we were stuck in a burning building and had to get to the top to get out.
