The Trip from Berlin to Hamburg and Sightseeing
We took the train to from Berlin to Hamburg and toured the city with a limo. I wanted to see St Nicholas Church, which I had seen in 1980. It is a church built in 1874 and destroyed by bombs during World War 2. The destroyed structure was left up as a reminder of the horrors of war.
There was an elevator in the spire which we took up. It was kind of tough getting panoramic shots.
The Reeperbahn and Escape Rooms
We then went to another few places, but in all, I don’t think Hamburg is an ooh and aah city though our driver told us about a few things. (That was then - now, I would probably dispute that. Every city is interesting!)
It was at this point I decided to cancel all remaining limos I had ordered, including Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Glascow, London, and Hamburg. Unfortunately, I missed the 24-hour deadline for Copenhagen and would have had to pay for the limo anyway, so we did meet up with the driver - it was actually a good thing as you'll read on the next page.
We then did 3 escape rooms at Skurrilum which is in the Reeperbahn.
The Reeperbahn is entertainment oriented including hardcore sex and prostitution which is legal. However, ONLY MEN CAN GO INTO THE SEX AREAS. Rose was bummed. However, it is also the place where the Beatles started, though the original club (Star Club) burned down in the 80’s.
The Escape Rooms were some of the best rooms we’ve been to. They don’t rank as #1 compared to Live Thriller and Amsterdam Catacombs but they are so good that they are on the top of the list.
The three rooms were:
- Ernie Hudson and the Wailing Woman
- Ernie Hudson and the Zoo of Death
We finally finished the evening at the Hamburger DOM which is a fair. Rose really wanted to get on the ride picture below.
