Arriving in Berlin
Hard to believe it’s the last of the first 7 days. I have never been to Berlin and am so fascinated by it and the Cold War era.
We took a 6 hour train ride to Berlin from Amsterdam.
The hotel we’re staying at is literally 5 minutes walk from the concert we’re going to tomorrow night at the Admiralspalast. We will be seeing Fink. He sings in English, is English but lives in Berlin.
The NH Collection series of hotels is pretty decent. Some chain that has bought and converted older hotels modernizing them very well. SMALL Elevators. The one in Amsterdam could hardly hold the 2 of us with our luggage. (Yes, yes, I know, it isn’t the package, it’s the PACKAGE that takes all the room).
This is the first thing we saw in Berlin at the train station:
Berlin Evening Activities
We went to 2 escape rooms – Beast of Berlin and Brandon Darkmoor. These were extremely well done rooms.
Rose was getting sicker so I walked about 1.5 miles to the pharmacy that was open until midnight to get her some drugs. I was glad I had been exercising on the treadmill for the prior 2 months. It was a really nice night, just about 40 degrees. I saw this place on my walk called the
Friedrichstadt Palast, a place that has ballet and other acts.
