Trip Day 7 - Sunday, February 23rd - Milton Keynes -> Croydon

The drive from Milton Keynes to Croydon was quite pleasant other than that Google Maps decided it was closer to drive through neighborhoods with narrow streets instead of going on highways because it was shorter. I could have picked a better route but I didn't know better. When I left Croydon for the airport on Saturday morning, I picked the highway route.

My Sunday evening activity was the Magician's Table. I had a limo take me there (South side of London near the Shard) and back. Though only 12 miles a way, it's an hour trip because of the lack of highways. It's essentially like going through neighborhoods in our neck of the woods WITH SPEEDBUMPS! I'm glad I had a limo, because driving would have been maddening. It got cold, rainy, and windy today. Also, I didn't have to find parking.

The Magician's Table offered the story that we were at the memorial services for the famous magician Dieter Roterberg and he was going to do one last trick. We were at tables and had a parade of magicians (I think 5) doing close-up magic. Dieter's final trick was called "The Magician's Table" and it was quite good.

Trip Day 8 - Monday, February 24th - Croydon

Where is Croydon? 12 miles south of London - drive time 45 minutes to an hour.

My itinerary for today was to walk to the Croydon Clock Tower and visit the Croydon Museum. After that head to St George's Walk, then Pinball Republic.

I got to the museum and found out it is closed for renovation, but a temporary exhibit is open - only on Wednesday. Walked to St George's Walk and got my Killing Eve pics. Then I headed to the Pinball Republic to figure out where it was (it's closed until Thursday).

My next thought was getting lunch, but after paying about $40 for a burger at the hotel restaurant yesterday, I headed out. Figured I'd drive to IKEA for Swedish Meatballs, but took a wrong turn (I do that a lot here) and ended up at Costco. Still worked for me.

Then I just vegged watching The Imitation Game with Benedict Cumberbatch as Alan Turing. That is a great movie that was recommended to watch at Bletchley Park. They said it was about 40% accurate, which I felt was about right. If you haven't seen it, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
