Day 6 - Vienna
Food Tour, Time Travel Vienna History, Escape Room and Heuriger
This is a hard day to parse. When I had showed Peter the prices for a food tour, he said he could do much better for less and I agreed with him. There was also an hour of history at the Time Travel Magic Vienna and an Escape Room at Locks and Clocks. At the end of the day, we met up with Hanni at a Heuriger.
I'll post the food, history, Escape Room, the Heuriger separately, but realize these were lumped together.
Food Tour
We had 5 different food stops this day.
The Virgil Chapel
The first reference of history was in the St Stephan's Cathedral Subway stop (U-Bahn.) After parking Peter's car at another U-Bahn station where the parking prices were reasonable, we took the subway to St Stephan's Cathedral (nick-named Steffi.) There we saw the Virgil Cathedral, which had been uncovered and preserved for posterity. Unfortunately, it was closed for renovations.
Time Travel Magic Vienna History Tour
We went to the Time Travel Magic Vienna History Tour, a combination of 3-D and special effects theater, VR, and animatronics including being in a bunker during the second world war during a bombing (the floor shook!)
It was a little commercial and shallow, but we could relate to a lot of things since we both grew up with it.
Escape Room at Locks and Clocks - the Secret Study
The premise of the Escape Room we did, the Secret Study, was that we were secret agents taking the final test before we could become official agents. Our game master Yogi gave us an extra 5 minutes (we needed it).
